Although there is no railway on Yoron Island, there exists a station named Yoron Station, and within the station premises, there are wheels mounted on a roughly 5-meter rail, a station signboard, and a gate. From Yoron Station, you can enjoy a stroll along the Bidou Promenade while taking in the breathtaking views of the coastal cliffs.

The museum features panels and folk artifacts that showcase the history, culture, nature, lifestyle, and performing arts of Yoron Island. It also displays the belongings of Yoko Mori, a well-known novelist and devoted admirer of Yoron Island, as well as a bicycle used in the movie "Megane." From the 5th-floor observation deck, you can overlook northern Okinawa and the nearby islands.

Situated on a hill at the southern tip of the island, these castle ruins date back to the 15th century during the Ryukyu Dynasty, with its stone walls still intact. Perched 94 meters above sea level, Jishu Shrine and Kotohira Shrine provide a stunning panoramic view of the island and serve as the stage for the renowned Yoron-jugoya-odori (Yoron full moon night dance).

Enshrined here is Ajiniche, a hero of Yoron Island who actually lived about 800 years ago. Numerous legends and historical sites remain as evidence of his role as a hero who protected the island. It is said that this place brings good fortune in competition, love, and the fulfillment of wishes. It is believed that if you write your wish on an ema (votive tablet) shaped like Yoron Island and hang it on the rock, your wish will come true.

This outdoor folk museum offers guided tours of preserved traditional houses and tools, allowing you to gain an in-depth understanding of Yoron Island's lifestyle and culture. In addition, we offer workshops where you can experience Yoron Island's culture through activities such as making traditional toys and dyeing with plants.

Approximately 1.5 km offshore from Oganeku Beach on Yoron Island, a pure white sandbar emerges from the sea. Appearing only for limited periods due to the tides, it is called the "Phantom Beach." Legend has it that "if you collect as many star-shaped sands as your age, you will find happiness." It's a breathtaking sight unique to Yoron Island, and you can reach it by boat from nearby beaches.

In the local dialect, "aduru" means red clay and refers to pottery made using the red soil that covers the coral reef-formed island. Focusing on capturing the unique colors of Yoron Island, these items are handcrafted individually without machinery. They are made using glazes derived from natural materials found on the island and made available for sale.

As the only brown sugar shochu distillery on Yoron Island, the southernmost island of the Amami Islands in Kagoshima Prefecture, our flagship brand, Shimayusen, is influenced by Yoron Island's sake culture (Yoron Kenpo) and is characterized by a refreshing and easy-to-drink flavor. Today, it is one of the few products in the Amami Islands still made using traditional clay pots, and you can also tour the interior.
Yoron Kenpo: A custom of entertaining distant guests with sake, reflecting the "spirit of hospitality" by welcoming important visitors with island liquor. This tradition involves filling a large cup to the brim with brown sugar shochu and having everyone take turns drinking from it.

As the main street of Yoron Island, it is lined with accommodations, retail shops, and restaurants, and becomes the island's most vibrant and bustling area at night, frequented by locals.

It is a popular, hidden beach loved by the locals, with calm waves that make it perfect for swimming. The location has been used as a filming location for music videos and movies, and at low tide, you can explore the rocky area in the back.
